Groov-Pin earned silver certification in Wellness Workdays’ 2022 Best Wellness Employer program. We have been recognized for our achievements in corporate wellness for the fourth year in a row.

Our employee wellness program, called GP Fit, has truly become part of our company culture. Because we address all aspects of health including physical, mental, social, and financial, our program impacts many parts of our employees’ lives.

We want employees to feel empowered to take steps to make healthy, long-lasting changes in their lives. Here are some key components that help our wellness program succeed:

 

Walk to Wellness

Walk to Wellness challenges are some of our most popular health initiatives. We develop different themes, goals, and prizes for each walk.

Individual and team Walk to Wellness walking challenges improve physical health while encouraging socialization and improving mental health. We have also chosen to focus on our larger community by creating walking challenges that will benefit local organizations.

In 2021, we hosted a walking challenge that resulted in our employees surpassing the challenge goal and raising $500 for Crossroads Rhode Island’s Domestic Violence program.

 

Incentives

One of GP Fit’s main goals for our current plan year is to ensure employees make the most of the benefits available and take advantage of the ways they can earn money to pay for healthcare expenses. By participating and completing various wellness tasks, employees can earn up to $775!

Another incentive we continue to promote is participation in UnitedHealthcare’s “Motion” program for eligible employees and their covered spouses. It has been a convenient way to add an increased challenge to our walking programs by providing daily step goals. Achieving these goals every day can earn participants up to $1,905 per year deposited to their Health Savings Account.

 

Adaptability

Groov-Pin’s wellness program is constantly changing to meet current needs and circumstances. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we shifted our focus to mental and social health resources. We were even able to host a socially-distanced outdoor yoga class over the summer.

Since the pandemic has prevented many of our in-person events and presentations, we have created new monthly challenges based on past initiatives that our team enjoyed. The monthly challenges range from our popular Walk to Wellness step challenges to hydration, relaxation, and heart health challenges.
