Groov-Pin was recognized for Overall Excellence – Mid-Size Manufacturer by Providence Business News in their annual Manufacturing Awards.

The Manufacturing Awards “honors trailblazing manufacturers who power innovation and progress across Rhode Island and Southeastern New England.”

Groov-Pin is proud to have been recognized this year for manufacturing excellence. The company is approaching its 100th business anniversary, having manufactured fasteners to improve the performance of manufacturers’ assemblies and operations since 1926.

Groov-Pin’s engineered fasteners and turned components are used in various industries from Automotive, Aerospace and Defense, and Telecommunications to Die Casting, Medical and Dental, and Irrigation, and many more.

Groov-Pin’s success can be attributed in part to strong policies and procedures that have been in place for many years, yet leave room for innovation and improvement.

“Understanding how we make the parts we make and what goes into it as far as labor, machine run time, and material makes us stronger and smarter as a company,” said Groov-Pin’s plant manager, Bryan Trout.

Bryan explains how Groov-Pin is able to build on that strong foundation. “We are also looking at new software which will allow us to quickly and accurately gather on floor inspection information and electronically transfer to the computer, so our operation is gathering real time data in a quick and efficient manner,” he said.

Communication is also a key to Groov-Pin’s continued success. From sales and production planning to floor supervisors, operators, and shipping, the Groov-Pin team’s ability to diagnose problems, understand them, and adjust and improve, makes its operations stand out.
