Groov-Pin’s latest Walk to Wellness walking challenge raised funds for Crossroads Rhode Island’s Domestic Violence Program.

As part of our GP Fit employee wellness program, each month features a different challenge and theme. In October, we hosted a walking challenge to benefit Crossroads for Domestic Violence Awareness month.

We challenged participants to collectively walk 125 miles per week throughout the month in honor of Crossroads’ 125th anniversary this year. If participants reached the goal each week, it would equate to a $125 donation. Our team went above and beyond to reach over 500 miles each week!

By surpassing the weekly goals, Groov-Pin raised $500 for Crossroads’ Domestic Violence Program.

As we celebrated our 95th anniversary this year, we reviewed ideas and priorities with our team. It became clear that we wanted to give back to the community while supporting our employees.

Our Walk to Wellness challenges have evolved to encourage employees to prioritize physical fitness while giving back to organizations like Crossroads.

Crossroads’ Domestic Violence Program

Crossroads is an affiliate member of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness for women. Crossroads provides integrated services to address the unique needs of domestic violence survivors, as we work with them to break the cycle of violence and find secure, stable housing.

Through the Domestic Violence Program, Crossroads offer comprehensive trauma-informed services for domestic violence survivors, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, advocacy, support groups, and children’s enrichment programs.
