Groov-Pin is proud to be a 2025 recipient of a Common Good Award presented by Rhode Island Monthly and the Rhode Island Foundation.

Groov-Pin was honored in the medium category (50-249 employees) for giving back as a company and supporting our employees in their efforts to get involved in their communities.

Groov-Pin and employees have fundraised and raised awareness by participating in walks hosted by local chapters of the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and Mental Health America. Employees fundraised individually for the company team with Groov-Pin offering a corporate contribution.

Each year, Groov-Pin also hosts a holiday basket raffle in each plant with funds benefitting local chapters of organizations of employees’ choice. We have raised at least $500 a year through the raffle for organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Lung Cancer Research Foundation. The ticket sale amounts are matched by Groov-Pin.

In September 2024, Groov-Pin employees raised funds for and participated in the Let’s Get Moving Walk in Wickford through St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The event raised over $10,000 for the organization Our Little Roses, which supports education and healthcare for girls in Honduras.

Groov-Pin also hosts ongoing employee walking and wellness challenges to raise funds for Crossroads Rhode Island. We launched a new team race challenge in October 2024 to see which location could raise the highest amount for Crossroads. Some of our employees have also visited Crossroads in person to volunteer in the kitchen.

Our goal is to increase our community efforts however we can. This year, we included a community service incentive to our wellness program. This allows employees to earn wellness dollars for both participating in group events and giving back in their own way.

About the Common Good Awards

The purpose of the Common Good Awards is to honor companies in Rhode Island who encourage their employees to participate in philanthropic efforts in their communities. Companies who apply should be encouraging their employees to actively, not just monetarily, participate in philanthropic programs in the community AND/OR offer employees the opportunity to participate in such efforts together through company outreach programs. The company may also offer employees incentives for this work (paid day off, donation to charity etc.)
