Groov-Pin will attend the 2023 International Microwave Symposium (IMS) on June 13 at San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. IMS is the world’s largest RF and microwave event and is part of Microwave Week. The show will feature over 600 exhibiting companies from the RF and Microwave Connector industry.

Companies that exhibit at IMS “represent the state-of-the-art when it comes to materials, devices, components, and subsystems, as well as design and simulation software and test/measurement equipment.” We look forward to connecting with our RF Connector customers and discovering new opportunities.

Our sales manager, Mark Ciuba, and application specialist, Scott Stanier, will attend the show this year. You can connect with them at the show or contact them to learn more about our Precision Turned Components and other engineered fasteners.

Groov-Pin RF/Microwave Connector Components

Groov-Pin’s subsidiary, Precision Turned Components (PTC), in Smithfield, Rhode Island, manufactures precision turned connector bodies, fittings, and other complex parts. We manufacture parts that deliver the premium thread integrity, tight tolerances, burr-free edges, and fine finishes connector companies need for accurate and reliable performance. These brass, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum turned parts meet strict tolerance and finish requirements necessary for use in the RF/Connector industry.

Precision Turned Components operates a range of multi-spindle, single-spindle, CNC Swiss, and secondary machines to produce complex parts ranging in diameter from .030″ to 11″ in quantities ranging from 100 to 10 million+ pieces. We provide secondary features such as markings, stampings, broaching, cross-holes, slots, and threads. Please see our capabilities and facilities list for more information.

We also manufacture standard lines of Tap-Lok thread-cutting inserts and Speedserts thread-forming inserts. Groov-Pin threaded inserts install quickly, in one step, and provide vibration and pull-out resistance for stronger assemblies. Our Speedserts have exterior lobes that roll through the base material, locking them in place without leaving metal chips behind.

Learn More About IMS

IMS Microwave Week consists of three related conferences offering technical sessions, interactive forums, plenary and panel sessions, workshops, short courses, industrial exhibits, application seminars, historical exhibits, and a wide variety of other technical and social activities including a guest program. The International Microwave Symposium (IMS) is the centerpiece of the Microwave Week technical program, which includes the Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (RFIC) and the Automatic Radio-Frequency Techniques Group Conference (ARFTG). With over 10,000 participants and 1000 industrial exhibits of state-of-the-art microwave products, IMS Microwave Week is the world’s largest gathering of Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave professionals and the most important forum for the latest research advances and practices in the field.

The trade show plus technical sessions, workshops and panel sessions, MicroApps sessions, and Exhibitor Workshop make IMS the leading international gathering for professionals buying and developing materials, devices, components, and subsystems, as well as design and simulation software and test/measurement equipment for products at RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and THz frequencies.

Attendees come from over 50 countries and include senior management, engineering management, engineers, and R&D personnel from the private sector and government/military. Participating exhibitors will establish new US and international connections, present products directly to industry leaders, and stay on top of the latest advances in mm-wave, 5G, IoT, Internet of Space technologies, and Microwaves in Medicine.
