This month, we’re introducing another new member of the Groov-Pin team. Tim Jones is the Quality Assurance Supervisor at Precision Turned Components (PTC), Groov-Pin’s subsidiary in Rhode Island.
What are your job responsibilities?
“I am the QA supervisor. I’m in charge of the daily functions, tasks, and responsibilities of the department and its people, i.e. inspection, calibration, corrective action, administrative, and humor.”
What is the most challenging part of your job? How do you handle the challenge?
“Being the new supervisor and employee of almost three months, I have had challenging and sometimes frustrating days. As the days go by, I handle obstacles one at a time and try to make them speedbumps, knowing if I take it slow and easy, I’ll get over it just fine. Also…coffee.”
What are the skills you need to excel in your role?
“Experience. Patience, Creativity. Humor. Repeat.”
What do you like about working at Groov-Pin?
“I like being independent as well as working in a group to solve problems, entertain, and implement ideas. Everyone seems to be nice, accommodating, supportive, and helpful.”
What makes Groov-Pin stand out from competitors?
“Groov-Pin has a strong product base and capabilities to accommodate a wide range of jobs. They have shown, in my short time here so far, to care about their employees in terms of health and safety.”
What do you like about working in manufacturing? Why is the industry important to you?
“I’ve always worked under the umbrella of manufacturing in some quality control or quality assurance capacity for the past 25 plus years. I like the interaction with people and being part of the process of making a quality product for different industries.”
