Groov-Pin hosted a tour for visitors from the Jane Addams Resource Center (JARC) in Rhode Island.

JARC “provides free manufacturing skills training and basic education classes to help Rhode Islanders earn a better wage.”

JARC was founded in 1985 in Chicago and has expanded to Baltimore and Rhode Island. JARC RI opened in May of 2023 and offers ongoing enrollment into their Manufacturing Fundamentals and CNC Operators programs.

We hosted a facility tour and Q&A session for 12 program participants and two careers coaches from JARC. Participants had a range of experience in the program and were all passionate about machining and the manufacturing industry.

Job training programs, especially programs like JARC which provide both CNC and manual machine training, are great resources for jobseekers and employers.

About JARC

At Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC), we support healthy communities and economies by teaching low-income adults and workers the skills they need to earn a living wage. But we go beyond basic skills training. We also connect job seekers with good jobs in the manufacturing sector, and we foster the life skills that create a path out of poverty.
