Groov-Pin employees raised $280 for the American Stroke Association through the GP Fit Fall 2020 Walk to Wellness challenge. The 200-mile challenge lasted six weeks and motivated participants to get walking through the change of the seasons.
Each participant that completed the goal of 200 miles would earn a $20 donation. A donation tracker was updated to show how the contribution increased as more people hit the challenge target. A total of 22 participants joined in the challenge with 14 hitting or surpassing the goal.
The top participants in each team location walked an impressive number of miles during the challenge – Jana on team New Jersey completed 405 miles, Louise in Georgia completed 546 miles, and B. from Rhode Island completed a remarkable 595 miles!
Other employees including Amnas, Jean, Nancy, Chris, Ed, Lauren, Jimmy, Ray, Rhonda, Bob, and Preston helped us reach the $280 donation total.
Over the past year, we have shifted the focus of many of our walking challenges to incorporate awareness and support to organizations that help members of the community. The Groov-Pin team chose to use the fall challenge to raise money for the American Stroke Association to honor a member of our team who passed away over the summer.
As part of the past walking challenges, Groov-Pin has donated to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation to honor an employee battling lung cancer, the American Cancer Association to recognize all employees who are fighting or have survived cancer diagnoses, and the Chisholm Ski Club to celebrate the life of Groov-Pin’s CEO’s father who passed away in October of 2019.
