Free to Breathe Northern New Jersey
Groov-Pin employees and their family and friends participated in the Lung Cancer Research Foundation’s Northern NJ Free to Breathe 5K. The walk was held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Horseshoe Lake Park in Succasunna, NJ. Groov-Pin’s Go Team Jo raised $425 for lung cancer research.
Participants were happy to get outside for some exercise, support Joanne, a member of the Groov-Pin team who is battling lung cancer, and raise money for research. “It was nice to be able to support Joanne, who is in Rhode Island, from where we are in New Jersey,” said Nancy Ziemba, Groov-Pin customer service representative.
The Free to Breathe 5K events build awareness about lung cancer research and treatments as well as screenings and prevention. The Lung Cancer Research Foundation hosts these events to fundraise for research programs dedicated to improving lung cancer outcomes.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the New Jersey 5K and donated to Go Team Jo!
Free to Breathe Rhode Island
Groov-Pin employees and their family and friends walked in the Lung Cancer Research Foundation’s Rhode Island Free to Breathe 5K. The walk was held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket, RI. Groov-Pin’s Go Team Jo raised $840 for lung cancer research.
Joanne was able to attend this event with many of her family members and friends. Before the start of the 5K, we said a blessing over Joanne and handed our lung cancer ribbons for participants to wear during the month of November for lung cancer awareness.
Joanne expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her. “You have no idea how much it means to me to have all of you here,” she said.
The Free to Breathe event was a great way for Groov-Pin employees to connect with the community by supporting each other. Participants attended the walk to support both Joanne and everyone they know who is affected by lung cancer.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Rhode Island 5K and donated to Go Team Jo!
