Groov-Pin was named a Healthiest Employer in Rhode Island by Providence Business News for the fourth year in a row. Our comprehensive employee wellness program, GP Fit, empowers employees to take steps to improve their overall health.

2020 was a challenging year for many businesses and Groov-Pin made employees’ health and safety the highest priorities throughout the pandemic. In addition to mask requirements, daily health questionnaires, and temperature checks, Groov-Pin chose not to allow visitors to any facility for 14 months to keep employees safe.

Today, Groov-Pin leaders monitor protocol updates in each state and continue to wear masks for employees who are unvaccinated. Eligible employees who have chosen to be vaccinated will receive a financial incentive. For employees who had vaccine appointments during the workday, Groov-Pin compensated the time out of the office.

As part of regular programming, the Walk to Wellness walking program remains our Groov-Pin’s most popular initiative and encourages the most positive results. In addition to weight loss and improvements in blood pressure and diabetes numbers, Walk to Wellness provided mental health benefits during the months of quarantine.

“I’m very proud that since we started our program seven years ago, we have come a long way when we benchmark our performance against other programs,” said Susan Smith, Groov-Pin’s HR director.

Each year, as Groov-Pin develops its wellness initiatives, wellness committee members consider GP Fit’s promise to employees: Chance, choices, change. GP Fit seeks to provide employees with the chance to make positive choices that will lead to lasting change.

“For the past four years, our program has been nationally recognized because we deliver a program that supports our employees and their families and covers physical, mental, social, and financial health,” Susan said.
